Overview

State and Local Projects

Improving equitable access to effective educators for disadvantaged students, especially those in low-performing districts and schools, is an essential component for both school improvement and for closing achievement gaps.

Each year, the GTL Center consults national, regional, and state partners to build carefully designed, intensive state and local projects that can move the needle on improving equitable access to effective educators. The projects include multi-year, multi-state initiatives that include district teams as well as shorter, more targeted work with a single state and districts.

Projects are designed to meet local needs and priorities while maximizing cross-state learning, resource sharing, and coordinated technical assistance (TA) from across the federally funded TA network.
