National Center for Intensive Interventions (NCII)

NCII has developed a series of professional learning modules intended to assist district or school teams involved in initial planning or implementation of data-based individualization (DBI) as a framework for providing intensive intervention in academics and behavior. The modules include an overview of the DBI process and more in-depth exploration of the various components.

Network for Transforming Educator Preparation

The Network for Transforming Educator Preparation (NTEP) established partnerships between state education agency and higher education colleagues across states to create change in policy areas related to transforming licensure policies and systems, transforming program approval policies, systems, and standards, transforming data systems to support continuous improvement of educator preparation, and engaging stakeholders to develop and implement this new system of educator preparation. This report summarizes lessons learned from the first two cohorts of NTEP states.

Pathway to Practice NC

Pathway to Practice NC is a joint online program between NC State University and UNC-Chapel Hill, designed to help emergency licensed teachers on a residency/temporary license in North Carolina schools earn their teaching certifications in numerous subject areas, including special education. This program consists of seven modules that can be completed on flexible schedule.

Scholarships for Opportunity and Results (SOAR) Act Grant

The District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education intends to award $1.5 million in competitive grants from Scholarships for Opportunity and Results (SOAR) Act funds for the public charter sector for teacher pipeline initiatives. The purpose of the SOAR Act grant is to improve school performance and educational outcomes and to provide facility funding to increase the number of high-quality public charter school seats in the District of Columbia.

Longwood University's Special Education Residency Program

Longwood University's Residency Program supports career switchers and provisionally licensed teachers while they earn their master's degrees in special education. The program provides RVE (Reading for Virginia Educators), Praxis, and VCLA (Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment) support as part of the program.

Louisiana Department of Education, Believe and Prepare Initiative

This program supports the Louisiana Department of Education’s effort to increase teacher readiness by providing yearlong residency programs for all candidates, support for rural communities, and professional development for mentor teachers.

Addressing Shortages of Educators in an Uncertain COVID-19 Landscape: Viewing Teacher Candidates as Assets

This brief offers examples of ways that teacher candidates can serve as assets in their field placements, both in person and virtually, helping to alleviate potential and ongoing teacher shortages in many content areas.

The Georgia Department of Education supports a High-Leverage Practice (HLP) Resource Hub that offers Georgia preparation providers and educators resources related to HLPs, from introduction through application, along with an accompanying HLP/edTPA Rubric Crosswalk.

ECPC Curriculum Modules: Professional Standard

The ECPC (Early Childhood Personnel Center) offers resources for higher education faculty and professional development providers that are designed to facilitate the integration of the Initial Practice-Based Professional Preparation Standards Early Interventionists/Early Childhood Special Educators. The series includes a module for each of the seven standards.

SCRIPT-NC

SCRIPT-NC partners with select North Carolina community colleges to enhance coursework and practical experiences in early childhood programs by incorporating evidence-based and competency-based practices that support the inclusion of children with disabilities and who are culturally and ethnically diverse.
