Recruit media influencers to help celebrate the successful state and district partnerships that increase the effectiveness of candidates in high-need schools and to improve recruitment by drawing candidates to teach in them.
With program faculty and staff, share and discuss annually collected data on the placement, retention, and performance of the program’s graduates, especially those graduates placed in high-need schools. If equitable access problems are evident from the review, determine the sources of high attrition and poor performance.

Hold a stakeholder meeting to lay the foundation for and discuss priorities in developing actionable strategies and timelines to address equitable access to great teachers and leaders.
Based on implementation of strategies, clarify procedures and processes that are not helpful for identifying effective teachers and leaders. If needed, revise the state or district plan to clarify the shared understanding regarding what measures will be used to determine teacher and leader effectiveness, the purposes of assessing teacher and leader effectiveness, and specific decisions that will be made using these data.
