A TQ Center Research & Policy Brief, this resource explores the different options that states and institutes of higher education (IHEs) have for evaluating teacher preparation programs. Rooted in research and concrete examples of policy, this brief lays out both the strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and challenges, that the different evaluation options offer.

It also highlights how the states on the forefront of change (Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Ohio, and Florida) are approaching the evaluation of their teacher preparation programs.
