Identifying and Addressing Gaps in Access to Effective Educators

In 2016, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) partnered with the American Institutes for Research (AIR), the Texas Comprehensive Center, and the GTL Center to develop a framework for districts to help identify and address educator equity gaps. Since then, Texas has implemented policy consistent with this framework and is now working to make adjustments based on the lessons learned.

In this webinar, Etai Mizrav from AIR introduces a new GTL Center new resource, DECISION POINTS: Defining, Calculating, and Addressing Gaps in Access to Effective Educators, which provides a step-by-step process for developing and monitoring state policy to address educator equity gaps. Tim Regal of the TEA will provide an overview of the agency’s work and share reflections on the challenges, successes, lessons learned, and plans for the future.
